FAQ

General Rules

  • Players must have a Dart Connect account that is connected to the email address provided on the registration forms.
  • DPTX reserve the right to remove any player from the tournament that is considered not to have behaved in a correct and proper manner
  • Players with official YouTube or Facebook pages that wish to stream matches are welcome to do so, but please tag and post to the DPTX page so we can keep a copy.

General Playing Rules

  • All matches shall be played 501, straight start, double finish.
  • Darts must remain in the board until the score is recorded and verbally announced.
  • The last player on the “board” bracket shall keep score for the first match
  • The losing player of a match shall keep score for the next match played on that board. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of points and/or earnings for that event.    

Order of Play: 

  • The first person to throw each game will alternate. 
  • Player one will throw first on odd numbered legs, while player two will throw first on even numbered legs. 
  • Player one will be determined by a cork. 

Cork rules: 

  • The player on the top line of the bracket must throw at the bull first. 
  • Each player will throw at the bull.  There are three possible outcomes:  Double (inner), Single (outer), and Out.  Once thrown, the player will retrieve his dart from the board. 
  • Only the dart the sticks in the inner and outer portions of the bull will count toward who throws first. 
  • If the darts thrown for the bull is a tie, then both players shall throw again, in reverse order until one dart is nearest the bull.
Qualifying Play:
Group play, Round Robin style. Top eight players advance to Knockout Round.
Pool play match format is determined by the number of players that are in each pool, but the default match will be Best of 5.
 

Knockout play:

  • Opening rounds–Best of 11
  • Semi-finals–Best of 13
  • Finals–Best of 13

Seeding:

  • Beginning event 2, seeding will be based on a six event rolling Order of Merit.
  • The top 8 players on the order of merit that signs up within two weeks of the event will receive a bye into the seeded bracket of 16.

Scorekeeping:

  • All matches will be scored using Dart Connect.
  • The last player on the “board” bracket shall keep score for the first match.
  • The losing player of a match shall keep score for the next match played on that board. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of points for that event.

Attire: 

  • As DPTX strives to provide a professional environment for its players, collared shirts and slacks will be encouraged but not required by participants.

Costs of entry: 

  • The cost to play each event will be $50 per event if pre-registering.
  • $60 entry fee will be charged at the door.

 Cheating:

If you are caught cheating:

  • You will get a LIFETIME ban from DPTX.
  • We will report you to DPUS and CDC, if you are known to play in other DPXX events, we will contact the directors of those tours.

Grand Finale: 

  • The Winner and Semi-Finalist of each Regional Finals along with the remaining top two players from the Order of Merit will create a 16 player field.
  • The winner of each final will be that regional 1 seed, the runner-up will be the 2 seed. The highest remaining player from the Regional Order of Merit will make the third and fourth seed from that region.
  • Each regional seed will be slotted into the finals bracket in a manner that no seed of the same value will be in the same quadrant, and no seed from the same region will in the same quadrant 
  • Invitations must be accepted within three days.  Any invitation not accepted will be forfeited to the player listed next on the list.
  • There is no entry fee for this event.

Payouts: 

  • All payouts will be conducted by way the entry was received.
  • Example:  If you pre-registered via PayPal, you will be paid with PayPal (Venmo, Zelle, etc). If you registered with cash, we will attempt to pay you with cash provided that we have enough on hand.
